Travis Lang gets another sweet loon shot at Cuyuna Scout Camp!  Just out of the frame is the little brown baby following behind it.
Travis Lang got a shot of these 4 loons all in a row while on the 4th of July trip to Cuyuna Scout Camp.  Great shot...Love the green look to the water!

A great shot sent to us from John Sikkila of his loons on Oxhide lake near Hibbing, MN.  What a shot!
Karen Benjamin caught a close glimpse of this guy in action.  It is always cool to see them come out of the water with their prize fish!
While on a fly fishing excursion on a small lake near Hibbing MN, John Sikkila snapped an amazing photo of this beautiful bird.  As John puts it, "sometimes I think they are more curious of us as we are of them!"
Barbara Morrissett was shore fishing on Hanson lake by Grand Rapids and got a shot of this loon swimming by.  Good Stuff!

 

Michelle Davis of Cashton, Wisconsin while on vacation at Elbow lake got this shot, and in her words "The loons there are not shy, they get so close you can almost touch them!"

Polly Froehlich had a very close encounter with this loon.  She was up on Fenske Lake near Ely a while back, and this loon came to within feet of their canoe. She said that she could almost have petted it when it swam right up.  Very cool!
How cool is this???  Mike Lentz  was out in Western Minnesota last week and shot this awesome image of a baby on the back.  Wow!
Christine Seitz and the family was out boating the other day on Gilbert Lake near Brainerd and got a close up of this family of Loons!

Mike Lentz does it again.  He got the perfect shot of this loon with it's baby chick riding on his/her back.  How cool!

Brenda Johnson from Dassel, Minnesota joins the Loon Hall of Fame with this cool shot of the loon on a stretch.  She says that there is a lot of loon talk up on Whiteface lake where she snapped this photo.  Thanks for sharing.
Vic Luiken of Grand Forks, ND joins the Loon Hall of Fame with this picture taken last summer on a kayak trip on Eagle lake near Park Rapids.  The loons let them get very close to get the pictures, and this year he plans on getting several more. Thanks for sharing Vic!

Shirley Baier enters our Hall of Fame with her two favorite Loon photos.  She took this one, and the one below while on vacation to Long Lake by New London, Minnesota.  She enjoys these resident loons every year, listening to the loons and photographing them is a great pastime for her while at the lake.  Thanks for sharing Shirley!

The "First Swim!"  We just so happened to be watching this morning with everybody else, and grabbed a picture of our baby loons first swim.  How exciting!
Aime Fiester joins our loon hall of fame with an image of the loon stretching its feathers.  Her loon comes to us from Sheriff Lake in Lawler, MN which is vry close to McGregor.  Thanks for sharing Aime!
Linda Jensen shares this photo of a loon and its young.  These two hall of fame loons reside on North Long Lake in Merrifield.  Thank you to Linda and Larry who have strong passions for these wonderful birds of nature.  Linda shared with us that Larry also went to her classroom to speak with her students about the birds.  Wonderful!

Pam Birley caught a cool glimpse of our loons while in the process of incubating the eggs.  As the first loon got up, she could see that there are still 2 unhatched eggs being taken care of.  Great shot Pam!  Welcome to the Hall of Fame Pam!
Mike Kellar snapped this photo last year while in Wisconsin.  In his words,"it was always hiding on our side of the lake so the pair of loons on the other side wouldn't see it  I think it was unable to fly, so it stayed close to shore."  Great picture Mike, thanks for sharing, and welcome to our Hall of Fame!
Paul A Hagen took this awesome photo of a loon.  Just check out the details and the ripples in the water.  Nice phot Paul!
